##### Unit 1: Introduction to geometry

Students learn to identify geometric shapes and solid figures by name, distinguish shapes by their respective geometric properties, and associate geometric shapes to everyday common objects. After they learn these basic concepts, they recognize shapes from different perspectives and orientations, determine how they are alike and different, and develop initial understanding of congruence, symmetry, and coordinate geometry.

##### Unit 2: Units of measurement

Students understand that objects have properties such as length, weight, and capacity, and that comparison may be made by referring to those properties.

##### Unit 3: Introduction to data analysis

Students learn to organize data into various graphs like picture graph, tally chart and bar graphs. They also learn to interpret these charts.

##### Unit 4: Time

Students learn of different ways to measure time. They learn about days of a week and months and seasons of a year. They learn to read analog and digital clocks and solve simple word problems.

##### Unit 5: Introduction to statistics

Students learn basic concepts of mode and range of sets of numbers.
